Grenada’s 2022 Under 20 National 100M Champion, Nazzio John ran a personal best of 10.31s to finish third in his semi-final heat at the World Under 20 100M Championships in Cali Colombia on Tuesday.

His 10.31s finish represents his best legal time in the 100m for the 2022 season, and a lifetime best for the 19-year-old sprinter, however, this was not enough to secure a place among the list of eight finalists. A testament to the improvements made in the global sprinting scene, John’s performance was 0.01s better than his performance at the finals of the same event last year. In spite of this, his 10.31s was 0.02s shy of the top 8 qualifying for the finals of this year’s 100M event.

John, who claimed Gold in the 100M at the 2022 Grenada National Championships and also copped a Bronze medal in the 200M at the 2022 CARIFTA Games in Jamaica, this past April, now closes his campaign on the world stage by adding a semi-final finish to his growing list of sprinting accolades.
